Dedicated to all our puppies...

Welcome to Precious Pei's,

This website is all about those four footed hairballs that we have grown to love for more than 15 years now. They are completely spoiled rotten and have an attitude that rivals 2 year old children. I am of course talking about all of our Chinese Shar-Pei's that we have had over the years from the ones we have now to the ones we've lost.

Shar Pei Personalities:

Sharing your home and heart with a Shar-Pei is an adventure to say the least. I come from a family of dog lovers. For as long as I can remember we have had a dog. None of those wonderful dogs prepared me for the Shar-Pei Personality.

Shar-Pei's are different from other dogs in many ways most notable they are snobs. This was spoken clearly when one day I took Fluffy to the dog park. I was sitting on a bench watching the other dogs play when I looked next to me and there was Fluffy sitting ON the bench giving me a look that said, "why am I here?". A  Shar-Pei is a very clean dog, you probably won't find them rolling in mud, or digging holes. They give off the impression that type of behavior is beneath them.  A Shar-Pei is a couch dog, loyal to their families and uninterested in anyone else, incredibly smart; usually not interested in fetching; very slobbery; dripping with drool, and oozing personality.

If you are looking for a friend that will give you years of uncontrollable laughter and countless times scratching your head in awe, go get a Shar Pei Puppy and be ready for an adventure you won't want to forget.

It's All In The Wrinkles...

The most adorable aspect of any Shar Pei Puppy is the wrinkles, they are the cutest puppies I have ever seen. Once you see that little wrinkled up bundle of skin you can't help but fall in love with these amazing dogs. Our newest member of the family is Gilby (named after Gilby Clark of Rock Star Supernova fame). When the owner let him out of his kennel into the yard where my wife and I were waiting, his look and demeanor was exactly what I wanted and I wanted him. He had more personality than any dog I've ever met and as you can see from his photo all the wrinkles you could ever hope for in a Shar Pei Puppy.
